JAMB Activates Correction of Personal Details for 2024 Candidates

Update for 2024 UTME/DE Candidates: Correction Portal Now Open

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has opened the portal for correcting personal details such as Name, Local Government Area (LGA), and Date of Birth (DOB) for 2024 UTME and Direct Entry candidates. Previously, candidates could not amend these details once registration was completed. However, the new portal allows candidates to make these corrections.

Categories of JAMB Data Correction

  • Names Correction: Correct spelling or arrangement errors in names (Surname, Firstname, Lastname). This correction can only be done once.
  • Date of Birth Correction: Correct errors in the date of birth. This correction is a one-time opportunity.
  • Passport Photograph Correction: Correct errors in the submitted passport photograph. This correction can only be done once.
  • Gender Correction: Correct gender-related errors. Supporting documents may be required. This correction can only be made once.
  • State/LGA Correction: Correct errors in State or LGA of Origin. Supporting documents may be needed. This correction can only be made once.
  • Profile Correction: Correct any other required profile details. This correction can only be done once.
  • Choice of Institution/Course Correction: Change your choice of course or institution. This correction can be done multiple times with separate payments for each change.

Requirements for JAMB Change of Institution 2024

To change your institution or course, you will need:

  • Your JAMB profile email and password
  • JAMB registration number
  • Phone number
  • JAMB profile code
  • ₦3,500

Important Considerations Before Changing Institution/Course

  • Be certain of the course and/or institution you want to change to.
  • Verify if the course is available at the chosen institution using the JAMB Brochure.
  • Ensure the chosen institution’s cut-off mark is not higher than your score.
  • Select a course/institution that aligns with your subject combination to avoid issues during the admission screening.

  • Names Correction: Once
  • Date of Birth Correction: Once
  • Passport Correction: Once
  • Gender Correction: Once
  • State/LGA Correction: Once
  • Profile Correction: Once
  • Choice of Institution/Course Correction: Multiple times (with separate payment for each change)

Procedure for JAMB Change of Institution/Course/Data Correction

For 2023 and Earlier

  1. Visit the JAMB E-facility portal.
  2. Login with your email and password.
  3. Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2023 Downward)’.
  4. Select the type of correction (Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin).
  5. Complete the process yourself without needing a CBT Centre.

For 2024 Candidates

  1. Visit the JAMB portal.
  2. Login with your email and password.
  3. Click on ‘Registration (2024 only)’.
  4. Select ‘2024 UTME Data Correction’.
  5. Proceed to payment and complete the process yourself or visit a JAMB CBT Centre.

Alternatively (JAMB Accredited CBT Centre)

You can complete all process by visiting an accredited  CBT Centre 
  1. Visit the nearest JAMB office or accredited Centre.
  2. Request the JAMB Change of Institution Form.
  3. Make a payment of ₦3,500.
  4. Choose your preferred institutions.
  5. Fill out the form and submit.
  6. Thumbprint to authenticate the process.
  7. The attending JAMB officer will process the change via the JAMB CAPS portal.
  8. Obtain your JAMB change of institution printout.

Closing Date for JAMB Change of Institution 2024/2025

The closing date for the 2024/2025 JAMB change of institution form is February 17, 2025. After this date, JAMB will stop accepting changes.

  • Reduction: ₦18,780
  • New Fee: ₦87,600
